Keynote speaker on the microbiome, chronic disease and whole-body health
Give your audience a clearer way to understand chronic disease
Melinda King helps audiences understand how the gut microbiome may influence inflammation, immunity, metabolism, brain health and chronic disease.
Drawing on more than 18 years in general practice, together with training in functional medicine, nutrition and counselling, she turns complex science into a clear and connected way of understanding the body.
For conferences, professional associations, leadership events, health summits and educational programmes.
The symptoms may look separate. The biology behind them may not be
Chronic health problems are often experienced as separate concerns: digestive symptoms, fatigue, brain fog, poor sleep, anxiety, inflammation or metabolic dysfunction.
Yet the digestive, immune, metabolic and nervous systems communicate continuously.
Melinda helps audiences understand these relationships without reducing every condition to one cause. Her work helps people recognise patterns and ask better questions about long-term health.

Why Melinda
Melinda’s understanding of complex health began personally.
She spent a decade navigating cancer alongside her husband, an experience that exposed both the human cost of serious illness and the difficulty of rebuilding life after loss.
Years later, her young son developed severe and persistent digestive symptoms that kept him out of school for more than two years. Despite repeated consultations and treatments, clear answers remained difficult to find.
Those experiences, together with more than 18 years working inside general practice, led Melinda to study counselling, nutrition and functional medicine and to examine the microbiome through a systems-based lens.
Today, she brings lived experience, healthcare insight and scientific curiosity to the stage, helping audiences see what can be missed when symptoms are considered in isolation.
Her message is not that every condition has one simple cause. It is that better questions become possible when the body is understood as an interconnected system.
