1. Summary

All data you enter stays on your device with encryption.

•           Zero Transmission - We do not collect, transmit, or share your personal or health information with any third party, server, or cloud service.

•           No Tracking - There are no background analytics, no advertising, and no external connections of any kind.

•           Manual Control - Your information never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share a report yourself via email or other manual methods.

•           Practitioner Convenience - While you can save your practitioner’s email address in the App, this is only used to save you time by pre-filling an email and attaching the report in your own email app when you choose to export a report. We never use this address to send data in the background.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

When you set up and use InnerMap, the App stores the following information locally on your device only:

Personal Information

•      First and last name

•      Date of birth

•      Your practitioner's email address (optional)

Health and Symptom Data

•      Symptom severity ratings (numeric scores on a 0–10 scale)

•      Optional notes you write about your symptoms

•      Check-in dates and timestamps

•      Your custom symptom names (if you create any)

•      Your tracking frequency preferences

•      Your notification time preferences

This information is stored in an encrypted database on your device and is never transmitted anywhere without the user manually sending information.

3. How the App Functions

All information you provide is used solely to operate the App’s features on your device:

•      Symptom tracking — displaying your ratings, trends, and history

•      Baseline assessment — establishing your initial health baseline for comparison

•      Clinical report generation — creating PDF summaries for your reference and optional sharing. Generated PDFs include your first and last name within the document contents, and your initials in the filename (e.g. “AB_InnerMap_Report.pdf”). Whether you share a PDF, and with whom, is entirely your choice.

•      Reminders — sending local notifications to prompt your check-ins at your chosen times

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, research, or any purpose beyond providing you with the App’s core functionality.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share your data with anyone. Because all data stays on your device, there is nothing to share. Specifically:

•      We have no servers that receive your data

•      We use no third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools

•      We use no advertising networks

•      We have no access to your symptom ratings, notes, or personal information

The only way your information leaves your device is if you explicitly choose to send a generated PDF report, the PDF report file name does include your initials for convenience of your practitioner to handle reports.

Please note: When you choose to export and share your report, the security of that transmission depends entirely on the method you use (such as your personal email provider or messaging app). Standard email is generally unencrypted, meaning there is an inherent risk that it could be intercepted. By choosing to share your health report via email or other third-party apps, you assume full responsibility and risk for the security of that transmission.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database on your device using AES-256 encryption (via SQLCipher). The encryption key is generated on your device at first launch and stored securely in your device’s stored securely in your device’s Keychain (iOS) or Encrypted Keystore (Android), ensuring that your health data is protected even if your device is accessed by someone else.

We do not back up your data to iCloud, cloud servers, or any external storage. If you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed from your device.

6. Health Data

InnerMap helps you track personal health symptoms. The App does not integrate with Apple Health (HealthKit) or any other health platform. Your symptom data is not shared with Apple or any third party.

Because all health data remains on your device and is never transmitted, it is not subject to additional regulatory handling by us. You retain full ownership and control of your health information at all times.

7. Use by Minors

InnerMap is intended for adults. Because all data is stored locally on the device, we have no way of knowing the age of the user and we do not collect any data from anyone, including children. If a minor uses the App, they should do so under the guidance of a parent, guardian, or healthcare practitioner.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times:

•      Access: Open the App to view all your stored data at any time.

•      Correction: Edit your profile and symptom notes directly within the App.

•      Deletion: Delete individual check-ins or custom symptoms within the App, or delete the App entirely to remove all associated data from your device.

•      Notifications: You can disable or adjust reminder notifications at any time through your device’s system settings or within the App.

Because your data never leaves your device, you do not need to submit data deletion or access requests to us under privacy laws like the GDPR or CCPA. You are completely empowered to manage or delete your data yourself directly within the App

9. No Third-Party Services

InnerMap does not include or connect to any third-party services, including but not limited to:

•      Analytics platforms (e.g., Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude)

•      Advertising networks

•      Social media integrations

•      Cloud storage providers

•      Crash-reporting services

All open-source libraries used in the App operate entirely on-device and do not transmit any data.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
